What is your basic back ground, if you are an MSc chemistry holder and you want to be in the field of chemistry then Phd is the best option for you. If you have second thought of moving to other fields like software then MTech chemistry is best. deside yourself Regards Vijay kumar

Yes you certainly can but it will usually be in the areas like:-1.Computer Science (some IITs, ISI and most deemed universities and some self financed courses in govt. universities consider MSc(math/phy) as a eligibility criteria)2.Solid State Technology (offered by IIT Kharagpur)3.VLSI (IIT Delhi considers MSc(Physics) as a eligibility criteria also check out IIT Bombay)There may be some other courses in similar areas that you can go for ...BUT all the leading institutions require an excellent GATE score for admission into their M.Tech programs whereas the Deemed Universities might be willing to admit with a much relaxed criteria
