How much salary does a physics professor earn in America?

It much depends on where you are. If you are a full professor in a leading research University, a salary about $200K is well within reach. Dear God! I was a professor working in a private university in Portugal (now retired), with an MSc. in A.I. and a PhD. in NLU (Natural Language Understanding) and NLP (Natural Language Processing), from the University of Manchester, and my wages in Portugal were around US $8590 a year...

What interface does the S reference point define?

The S reference point defines the interface between the base station subsystem (BSS) and the mobile services switching center (MSC) in a GSM network. It is used to carry signaling and user data between these network elements.

Why can carbon-14 be used to date a 40000 year old tree but U-Pb cannot?

C14 is continuously made in the atmosphere by the effects of solar radiation on Nitrogen14. There is an equilibrium up there between how quickly C14 is made and how quickly it decays to C12 because the gases circulate. Obviously this circulation stops when a C14 molecule gets incorporated into a plant or something that ate the plant. Over time the C14 in a tree disappears while C14 in the iar keeps gettin renewed. Our dating technique relies on the difference between how much C14 is left in the tree compared to what can be found in the air. I dont think the same can be said of U. It and other heavy elements are not airborne and were in any case made in a dying sun. Therefore the ratio of Pu, U, Pb and other heavy elements is the same whether in a tree or in the soil that the tree grew up in. So while any U that found its way into the tree will have decayed, the U in the soil will have decayed too. Therefore our C14 (which relies on measuring differences) cannot be used. Full disclosure: I have MSc Molecular Biology but I am NOT an expert in carbon dating. Double check before you rely on this information as gospel.

Why cold air comes from a refrigerator?

Refrigerator Must Open if Used. Despite the model or a technology incorporated of a particular refrigerator, user has to open its doors to store or take out the goods. When the door remains open, warm and moist ambient air will flow in and will mix with the cold air inside the refrigerator. Cold moist air is heavier than ambient air so it drops down from the refrigerator cabin easily while hot ambient air goes in. Since you feel the cool and can see only the due forming, you think that cold air comes out. But actually what happens is hot air jumps first into it and pushes the cold air out from the refrigerator cabin.Moisture transfer increases with the number of door openings. If the blower fan is turned on, the flow rate of cold air inside the refrigerator cabin will be accelerated, resulting an out flow to the atmosphere through its square area of the opening thus convective and radiative heat transfer increases. You loose 40% energy consumption of a refrigerator due to this. Now I have invented a cost effective solution for this burning problem during my MSc research. Use my invention-"Door Screening System" (Has 20 year patent) which can save an average of 14% energy consumption of any refrigerator model.Door Screen reduces the release of cold air from the refrigerator cabin area as well as entering of atmospheric warm air. This helps to maintain constant temperature inside the refrigerator / freezer cabins thus reduce the working frequency and duration of the compressor run time. Door Screening System reduces 7 to 13 kWhr of its energy consumption per month of an average domestic refrigerator.I'm looking for an investor to develop this. 2- What is the role of an anchor MSC in GSM Network?

The anchor MSC is the MSC that handled the first call procedure. It will always be in charge of the call. If mobile moves to another MSC the call will go to the anchor MSC and then to the second MSC. If the mobile moves to a third MSC the second MSC will be no longer be part of the call.
