The business school that I attended is no longer in business. I received an associates degree in business in 1988-1989. I can no longer locate the degree. How do I go about obtaining a copy of my degree.

your school district's office.
You should be able to obtain a transcript. By law, all schools records must be kept. At times the student records of schools that have closed are stored at other schools. You should contact the State Board of Education in the state the school existed. They should be able to help you.
Contact the registrars office at the school you graduated from.
Perhaps you could look at technical writing, copy editing, writing for marketing departments or publicity for companies.

You can get a copy of your transcript by contacting the registrar's office of that school. The actual certificate is only printed once at almost every institution I know of....unfortunately. Still, it would not hurt to check with the registrar. Viper1
Elias Philo Peeples received a degree in General Medicine sometime during the 1850's from Louisville School of Medicine. How would one go about obtaining a copy of this degree?
How can I get my matriculation degree from FBISE.
If your high school was closed permanently, go to your school system's central office (the office of the superintendent). The records were probably moved there or they will know where they are.
Maintenance Manuals
According to the U.S. Department of Education, when a school closes "the generally accepted practice is for the school to make arrangements with the state-licensing agency to store their records." While there is no guarantee that the school did this, it is worth checking with the U.S. Dept. of Education. For contact information for your state, visit the Related Link.If the school that closed is a public school, you can also contact the main office of the school district that the school was in. There is a good chance that they will have the records of the closed school. If the closed school was affiliated with a religious organization, you can contact someone within that organization to help you find out where the records were sent when the school was closed. If the organization has another school that is still open, that would be a good place to start. If the school was affiliated with a particular church, that church might still have the school's records.
