There are grants and student loans online which allows you to pay them back until you are earning a certain wage. Foreign students though sometimes don't get any financial support.
Depends on which school, and if you get grants or scholarships as well, ballpark...medical students average $100,000 debt after leaving medical school.
I don't use VMD, but this is because I didn't graduate from The University of Pennsylvania's School of Veterinary Medicine. U-Penn, for some reason, is special in the United States in that it is the only vet school to grant the degree Veterinary Medical Doctor (VMD). Every other vet school grants Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM). The two degrees are functionally identical, however - VMDs and DVMs have the same knowledge base and technical skill.
Yes, most do, followed by four years of veterinary school (just like medical school).
Consider vet school to be Med school times 200 species. In medical school, you are given the tools to decide for yourself what area of interest best fits you. In veterinary school, you are required by the time you graduate to be a dentist, a general practitioner, an epidemiologist, a surgeon, and many others. The veterinarian is responsible for caring of the entire animal. Vet school is considered by most to be even most difficult than medical school. In fact, it is common knowledge that veterinary school IS harder to get in to than medical school because of so few veterinary schools in comparison to medical schools.
No, consider a Culinary Institute.
You need a degree in veterinary science. Then you need to go medical school.
Between £3000-£4000 a year tuition fees. Then if you need accomadation around £4000-£5000 a year. Without equipment and textbooks. But there are grants and student loans which can be taken out! If you need any more information about vet school please message me!
The Veterinariae Medicinae Doctoris (VMD) degree is only awarded to veterinarians by the University of Pennsylvania, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania USA. It is equivalent to the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree awarded by all other US veterinary schools. The difference stems from the origin of the Penn School of Veterinary Medicine as the Veterinary Department of the Medical School. As the Medical School awarded the Medicinae Doctoris (MD) degree to graduate physicians, it was consistent to use a similar Latin format for the veterinary degree. With a similar origin, the Penn School of Dental Medicine awards the Dentariae Medicinae Doctoris (DMD) to dentists.
The Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicene is scheduled to open in 2010. It does have a school of Veterinary Medicine.
American Veterinary Medical Association was created in 1863.
