College admissions depend on many factors. Some of these factors includes the type of school you are attending and, most importantly, the rigor of the academics at that particular school. I do not mean to sound condescending but I have been browsing Yahoo answers as well as wiki answers for some time now regarding college related issues and every single time I see someone saying their weighted GPA is like near 5.0 and their SAT score is uncharacteristically low. This, to me, says one thing. The school which that particular student is attending is public and offers a ton of AP classes such as AP Weightlifting (joke),AP Environmental Science (joke class), AP Drama, etc. Usually students who have a very, very high weighted GPA and a non-reflective or nearly so SAT score or AP test scores go to mediocre public schools with mediocre academic reputations. I go to a private school but have certainly experienced and have had contact with the public system through one of my closest friends. In my school, which has an impressive academic reputation, a 4.0 unweighted GPA is certainly hard to earn. I have a 4.0 unweighted GPA and my first try on the SAT resulted in a 1950. My second try resulted in a 2020. My AP scores so far are 5 on English Language and Composition and 4 on AP US History. I am also from Another Country and speak a foreign language at home. You seem to have a GPA reflective of your SAT score and, therefore, I think you should be a good candidate granted you also write a great essay and take a significant amount of AP classes with good scores on the exams. Chapel Hill is also near the top of my list for colleges. Good luck! I hope to see you there one day.

What do you add to your unweighted average?

You can't convert an unweighted average into a weighted average simply by adding something. You have to do the whole calculation for the weighted average.

If an H in a weighted honors class is 5.00 and you make an A which is a weighted 4.50 does this mean your unweighted GPA drops below a 4.00?

it shouldn't affect your unweighted GPA, as long as your weighted GPA is higher than a 4.0 then your unweighted stays a 4.0 (hopefully this makes sense)

Weighted keys in a keyboard instrument have a heavier feel, similar to a traditional piano, while unweighted keys are lighter and easier to press. Weighted keys provide more resistance and mimic the feel of playing a real piano, while unweighted keys are more suitable for beginners or players who prefer a lighter touch.

Semi-weighted keys can be a good option for beginners as they provide a balance between the lightness of unweighted keys and the heaviness of fully weighted keys, making it easier to develop finger strength and technique.
