How do you be a manager of a middle school band?

Being the manager of a band is hard, especially when you are in middle school. Here are some tips that I learned the hard way.

1. Figure out a band name. The name's the key. Fans will always remember the name. Also figure what the band will be about. For example: the Jonas brothers are focused on their adventures and their life, what is your band about?
2. Stay in CONSTANT contact with the band members at all times. Go to as many practices as possible, and maybe jot down some notes of what they need to work on or fix, in a little notebook.
3. Have at least two band 'get together s' per week. In them discuss your budget, income, and how you will split and save the money.
4. Make business cards for the band, along with fliers and advertising posters. On them have your band name, logo, and [for the cards] the names of all the band members on the back, and [for the fliers and cards] contact number or email.
5. Once they are ready, book an easy gig for them to play at. (My band formed in the beginning of the summer, right before school ended, so, I booked a gig for them, that was a back to school party that they would throw in a public park, at the end of the summer, that way, they had time to get to knoweach other, the music, and get used to their new instruments.)

6. Give them confidence. Slowly release them to the public. If the band members are a little shy, then give them to a few people at first; then blast them on the world!

7. After their first gig [or before] create a website for the band. Start with a free hosting at first, like the-band-name.webs.com or the-band-name.yolasite.com, then, after your band grows, and you are actually making a good profit, then move onto domain services like the-band-name.com or the-band-name.org.
