Under the cylinder head. you have to take the head off to find it.
Between the engine block and the cylinder head. Saturns are all overhead cam engines. If you haven't worked on one before, don't. You'll need to take it to the dealer or a reputable shop to have the head gasket replaced and the cylinder head resurfaced. Generally, head gaskets only fail if the engine has overheated. Engine fluids are important and need to be maintained properly.
Yes it does. It is on the intake side under the cylinder head below the intake plenum. You have to take the intake manifold off to get to it.

The cylinder head and other compnents need to be removed in order to replace the head gasket. As long as the cylinder head is off, it is a good idea to take it to an automotive machine shop for re-surfacing and a valve job before replacing it. For specific instructions on head gasket replacement and cylinder head removal, you can check out a Chilton or Hayne's Repair Manual for your vehicle at your local public library. Or, if you would like to purchase one for yourself, visit your local automotive parts house (AutoZone, etc,). Cost is $11-$14.
No, you do not have to .....

A cylinder head isn't too hard to replace actually, just take off the hood and remove the smoke gasket and clean out the pipes, reach in and pull on the magic lever to open the Nether Portal, enter there and fight Satan to the death in a gory battle, succeed and God will take your cylinder head and replace it, simple!
It should take about 8 hours give or take...
