sending unit makes loud humming noise from fuel tank
It's part of the fuel pump sending unit located in the gas tank. Your local parts store will tell you that it is a non-user-serviceable unit but online parts retailers will sell you one. It can be replaced separately from the fuel pump, and the job can be done without lowering the fuel tank.
It gets very hard to steer
No oil pressure
if you have owned the car for a long time chances are the filter will need changing. the fuel pump should buzz when the ignition is turned on so if it does its a good sign it is ok. but there are companys out there that can check the fuel pressure to see if its ok. Adam www.aeautomotive.co.UK

Yes, a GFCI breaker can go bad. You can tell if it needs to be replaced if it is not tripping when it should, if it is tripping frequently without any apparent reason, or if it is not providing proper protection against electrical shocks.
A fuel pressure test can determine if the pump is working properly or not.
You find the fuel pump inertia switch and if it is tripped and needs resetting then it was activated.

On some vehicles the fuel filter is a permanent filter mounted in the fuel tank. Your owners manual will tell you when to replace it or if it is a permanent filter.
