It gets very hard to steer
If the gearbox is causing freeplay in the steering wheel, then the gearbox needs to be replaced.
Clicking inside the steering column on the 1998 Plymouth Voyager sounds like a steering pump problem. It could also be that the steering box needs to be replaced. This should be looked at by a reputable mechanic as soon as possible.
A basic PS system has three components: pump : hoses : steering box A rack and pinion system has the same components except the "rack" replaces the steering box. The question is, what kind do you have and can you tell where the fluid has leaked out from. The prices range from relatively cheap(Hoses) to expensive(pump or steering box/rack)
If your referring to having loose steering, then you need to tighten the adjustment set screw on the steering box under the hood. Don't tighten this to much, or it will lock up the gears. Typically a loose box needs to be replaced, in very few cases will tightening the set screw actually help.

No!, I suspect your steering box might be at fault-I believe it can be adjusted.
Power steering box... Steering fluid level low,dirty or needs replacing... If power steering fluid is white then your box is damaged...
the steering box was replaced and the air bag light came on I was careful not to push the steering shaft to far in.
tie rod ends or steering box send it in for a front end alignment they shoud check it out and let you know what all needs to be replaced. Dealer or a good local shop that you trust.
Depending on the model and year, there is a problem with steering box. Google "Galant recall" you should find the recall date for this problem. Once you find it, call a the dealer who last worked on your car and ask if you can get a copy of all "recall work" done on your car. If the steering box was not replaced, call the dealer and demand that the box be replaced per the recall. If this fails, call the 800 number listed when you Googled for the information. Sam
check your gear box
From what I have read it is your under the hood fuse box. Pretty sure if it needs to be replaced you will have to replace the whole fuse box...
