Dental schools require a minimum of 2 years of college-level predental education prior to admittance. Most dental students have at least a bachelor's degree before entering dental school, although a few applicants are accepted to dental school after 2 or 3 years of college and complete their bachelor's degree while attending dental school.
You would have to talk with the admission office of the school you wish to attend. In many cases they will waive courses or grant credits for previous school and life experiences.

You will need a degree from an accredited dental hygiene school and a State license are required for this job. A high school diploma and college entrance test scores are usually required for admission to a dental hygiene program.
