20.000 thousand at year at 40.00
when I started in western Michigan in 2007, my beginning salary was 15.36/hr, with time and a half for overtime (that's mainly when called in) and double time and a half on holidays. it ended up being over 30,000 my first year. the problem is, surgical technologists aren't recognized for the hard work they do... we're basically the next guy up on the OR hierarchy from those doing janitorial duties. get an RN degree. you'll make twice the money and do half the work.

It depends on experience and location. As a permanent employee I have ranged from $14/hr to $18/hr. Traveling I make about $ 1000.00 to 1500.00 per week depending on call and call backs. The right travel company can do wonders if you have a good work ethic and want to work. I have worked with Aureus Medical for over a year now and still love it.
