I have doubts about this being really a Japanese person. He/She writes to a Chinese:
"Chinese poetry may be breathtakingly beautiful, but you know as well as I do that it does not translate into Western languages, which guarantees that I will never be able to appreciate its beauty."
A Japanese can easily read Chinese poetry. A Japanese will NEVER speak about "westsern language" as if it was somehow superior to "non-western" languages.
My 2 cents
Yashiko Sagamori Who is Yashiko Sagamori?" The writer known as Yashiko Sagamori is a person of strong convictions who has explained and uncovered the sources, the realities and consequences of anti-Semitism. His passionate essays are becoming known far and wide for their adherance to historical facts. His name is a probably a pseudonym used to by the author to focus attention on his ideas, not his person.
Saga could mean 'tradition' and also 'destiny'. Mori also have different meanings like 'forest' and also 'protector' or 'charm' . You can combine these meanings fitting the context you are quoting from. (E.g: 'destiny forest', 'forest of destiny')
