Certainly is, at least in the UK. As a former admissions assistant for a top five university in the UK; i can tell you that, although being less known than traditional A-levels/Highers etc... it tends to be held in higher regard. Good luck.

Weird, I just happened to be speaking about this to one of my teachers today. I was worried that my IGCSE score would be bad due to my failure in Chemistry and Physics (subjects which are mandatory). For next year my IB will start and I will definitely not be doing those two as it will also decrease my IB score and I pretty much suck at them. Is your situation similar? When I told my teacher about this they said that usually Universities will look at both your IB and IGCSE score when going into Universities but will look more into your IGCSE score. If you were to get a great IB score (e.g. 35) Universities won't pay attention to your IGCSE. So to answer your question and conclude my statement you can get into a top university with IGCSE and great IB. p.s. How bad is bad for your IGCSE and what is your idea for "great" IB score? Hope I could be a help!
practically all universities accept the IB diploma as an alternative to A-Levels. I went on a university trip recently, and the admissions tutor told us that he actually preferred IB, as it shows that you are a more well rounded person.
Yes they are!
I live in North America, Canada, and I'm currently taking IB. I was wondering where i could take an online ib course so i could replace that course with something else so i could get the IB diploma. If anyone could help me, that would be great! P.S. REAL ANSWERS ONLY
IB is considered stressful by some because it has a lot of advanced material to be learned in a short time. But, what is to expect from a course that is considered higher than that of an AP course. You take 6 courses that all are higher than AP.
Are you sure you can drop math? I think you would be getting a non IB diploma. You can take higher level or standard level, but if you don't take the IB course my understanding is you wouldn't get the diploma. I am not aware of IB online. You might try going to the official IB site.
IB Diploma is the diploma that you get when you complete the IB program in high school. IB a course that you can take in high school that is much more difficult than the regular school program as it is like a mini university. IB is short for International Baccalaureate.
Well, there are some that say it is better as the A-leves are too easy... I have no experience with A-levels myself, but whether or not you should do the IB (if that is what you are asking) comes down to you as a person. IB is not for everyone, and if you are going to do it, you must do it for your self. Universities do not in general prefere IB students, and getting into Oxbridge e.g. can be much harder for IB students, as they can require 43 (or more?) out of 45 points (I'm still going to try). I would never do anything but the IB myself:)
Actually the current gain is equal to Beta+1, not Beta. The current from/into the emitter is the sum of the current into/from the collector and base. Of course this assumes linear operation. For a proof: Ie + Ib + Ic = 0Ic = Beta * IbIe + Ib + Beta * Ib = 0Ie + (Beta + 1) * Ib = 0Ie = -(Beta + 1) * Ib
Pre-IB is the material learned in the IB program in the 9th and 10th grade 11th and 12th grade is IB material
