No name calling like telling them they are stupid or failures is not professional, but it is possible to call them by a nickname or initials. There are times I have more than one student with the same name so have had to come up with an alternative name. I like to gently tease my students and often they ask me when am I going to give them a nickname.

Should kids get food first before teachers at a school?

No, they should not. Neither should the teachers get food first, necessarily. The logistics should be decided by the individual schools, but keep in mind: if a teacher is late getting back from lunch, they're going to have 30 students unsupervised in their classroom. If a kid is late getting back from lunch, they're going to get a dirty look from their teacher. If timing is so tight that it actually matters who goes first, there's a lot to be said for making it the teachers.

Why are teachers so mean'?

Assuming that the question is actually a serious question, lets take a look at teachers and see if there is an answer to your question. First of all, one must admit that not all teachers are mean. So lets take the mean ones and divide them into groups sorted by why they are mean. 1. First group--These are mean people anyway and should never have been hired in the first place, and once hired, the principal should have seen that they were mean and fired them before they got tenure. These teachers give all teachers a bad name. They are sarcastic when they talk to the students, they talk down to them, make fun of them and generally have no respect for the student. 2. Second group--these are long time teachers that were not mean when they were younger, but over the years, the result of dealing with many years of unruly students, wise answers in the classroom, angry and mean students, they became burned out and became mean. They are usually short tempered, tend to only want to deal with the "good" students and don't have any patience. 3. Third group--These teachers are not mean, but they are seen as mean by the students because they are strict and rigid. They are not capable of being flexible and are seen as not listening. The are this way because they fear a loss of control if they are seen as weak.

How do ballet teachers decide when their students can do point?

A ballet teacher usually decides when to put his/her students on point when he/she sees that the girls' ankles are sturdy. I was 9 or 10 when I got my first pair, but some teachers like to keep their kids on flat (no pointe shoes) for a couple more years. If you are a ballet teacher, keep your students doing relevés on flat for a while to build sturdy ankles.
