For many reasons:

1. You might later be in a job which requires you to speak a different language.

2. It is a very useful skill that is harder to learn as you get older.

3. If you take it at school, you will be learnt it properly.

4. Its better - in a lot of peoples opinions - than say History (that is if you don't want to do history in the future) as for history, you can just pick up a book and read about it. Languages are a skill that you learn.

5. If you show that you have the dedication to learn a whole language, it would look very good on your c.v and you are more likely to get jobs and promotions because of it.

*By taking one launguage, learning other launguages and understanding people from different countries becomes easier.

*But don't pick a langauge if you struggle at it or don't think you will do well!

GCSE's are hard for some, and easy for others. I suggest that you work hard on them, if you are about to take them, so you can get into college/ work. Good luck!

What gcse subjects do i need to become a architect at Oxford?

The Royal Institute of British Architects has a section on becoming an architect, their website address is: http://www.architecture.com/ They recommend that you should have at least 5 GCSEs, including English Language, Mathematics and a double award in Science, or a separate science subject such as Physics or Chemistry. They also say that although it isn't essential to do GCSE Art, you should enjoy drawing and crafts, so it might be a good idea to take that as a GCSE as well. Hope this helps and good luck with your studies! thank you very much!! i just passed my SATs with flying colours!! Thanks i think that helps...

At the moment i have taken History and Business Studies as GCSE's options. I am concerned that i didn't take ICT. Will me not taken ICT as a GCSE affect the chance of me becoming an accountant?

Hi there, no not at all. Yes it might have helped but in my opinion, if you can use excell you will be fine. At the end of the day, at GCSE you should take subjects that you enjoy as you need the good grades to enroll at college. Some colleges even have special cources for an accountant so please do not worry. Get good grades and the world is at you fingertips.

Do I need to take GCSE maths to become a dietician?

Do you get a GCSE in PE?

I'd strongly recommend it, i did GCSE PE and am now doing A-level PE and it does help so you have a strong foundation to start learning a-level PE. There's a lot i fall back on now when learning things because i already knew them from GCSE, and all of the people in my a-level class that didn't do GCSE dropped out because it was too difficult. Some schools may not let you do do A-level PE unless you've already done GCSE so you should probably check. good luck in whatever you do :-)
