A teacher gets the amount of the students get so 2 months of summer 2 weeks for winter 2 weeks for spring break.

I disagree as a student. Teachers don't get the same amount of time because of planing days which we have off when they don't.

You didn't specify if you meant paid vacation time or not. I don't know if it varies from one state to another, but in the state in which I live, classes are held 180 days a year.

This teacher gets 1 week during winter and 1 week during spring. I don't know about others, but I do know we have to renew our license every 5 years, so many teachers taking training/workshops/courses during the summer to keep our license up to date and we do not get paid for that. And many of us return 2 weeks before students returning to work. So if we factor all that in, I would say 1 month in the summer.

Teacher health insurance varies based upon the district or state where they work. Also, teachers do not get said "vacation time". Teachers work a set amount of days according to their particular contract. Teachers do not get paid for the days they do not work (including holidays). They are paid for the days they work. Most teachers choose to have their yearly salary spread out over a 12 month period so that they receive money during the summer.

that is what i am asking i would think that they would get the summer off unless you work at an all year preschool or day care. then they probably have sick days and vacation days and emergency days they can request off for.

It depends on their contracts. Most districts have contracts negotiated with their local school boards, and number of sick days is one of the items they may negotiate on. I get 11. I have heard of others getting anywhere from 10 to 14.
