Yes it is. The associates and bachelor degrees are undergraduate degrees while the master's and doctorate degrees are graduate coursework. Thus, the MD (medical doctor) is a graduate degree.
For some doctorate degrees, like the MD degree, an internship is needed after graduation for the degree to actually become valid.

Of course! But to become a Md you have to live in Canada and be 18 years or older.
No. DO and MD are the two different, yet equal, degrees needed to become licensed physicians and surgeons in the United States. The credentials you use would have to be the ones you've earned. Putting an MD after your name when you are really a DO would be like putting an MS after your name when you really have an MA. MD and DO are two different, yet totally equivalent degrees. How many freaking times does this need to be said? A doctor of osteopathic medicine has the same credentials as does an MD including the option of becoming "board certified" in their area of training. They spend the same amount of time in medical school, internship, residency as does an MD, but unlike an MD, a DO spends hundreds of hours of additional training in the musculoskeletal system.
Not that I am aware of. While they are both equivalent degrees, their approach to patient care and treatment is different. Thus, a DO is a DO, and an MD is an MD. You cannot say one is the other.
You have to go to med school & become an md.
PhD is top dawg!
The MD and DO degrees are earned after graduate education at a medical school. Since MDs go to a allopathic medical school they earn a MD degree, while osteopathic physicians go to a osteopathic medical school and earn a DO, which is a Doctorate in Osteopathic Medicine. The MD and DO degrees are equivalent doctoral degrees, both of which are recognizable for licensure as a physician/surgeon. One can compare this concept to the fact that there are also equivalent degrees in other fields: Dentistry: DDS and DMD are the two doctoral degrees recognized for licensure as a dentist. Veterinary Medicine: DVM and VMD are the two degrees recognized.
