Yes; in order to get into medical school, you must take two semesters of inorganic chemistry and two semesters of organic chemistry in college (in addition to other premed requirements). In medical school, you take classes that also require a knowledge of chemistry such as biochemistry. Hope this helps! Dr. B

In order to be an obstetrician, one must graduate from college and then from medical school. You can go to any college for undergraduate work as long as you take the classes required to get into medical school. As far as medical school goes, there are several in Oklahoma and the surrounding states. If you are still in high school, it would be best to check with a guidance counselor to get information about the colleges in your area. If you are in college looking for a medical school, check with your school to see if you have a premed advisor. Hope this helps! Dr. B.

You should probably take classes that relate to your desired career, if any are offered at your high school. General classes to take are English and Math, and other college-preparatory classes. In the end though, the classes that you choose in high school generally won't matter as much to a college as how well you did (your GPA (grade pooint average)) and your test scores. If you are trying to get into a really prestigious college it would matter more.
