Yes, a Higher Diploma is typically considered higher than a Higher National Diploma (HND). The Higher Diploma usually represents a more advanced level of study, often equivalent to a bachelor's degree or a postgraduate qualification. In contrast, an HND is a vocational qualification that is usually at the level of the second year of a bachelor's degree. Therefore, the Higher Diploma generally requires more advanced knowledge and skills.

Typically it is an associate degree (two year program of study). In some countries it may be referred to as a higher diploma or higher national diploma.
i am on a BTEC National Diploma Course in fish husbandary at brooksby college, and i was woundering if i could be eligable for a student loan? The way I believe it works is whether the diploma is classed as further education or higher education. I did a BTEC National Diploma in Foundation Studies (art and design) and this was further education. Only higher education students qualify for a loan.
