The Cattail Toothpick Grasshopper is the common name of Leptysma marginicollis.

Specifically, the name reflects this insect's fondness for cattails (Typha spp). In coastal swamp communities in the United States of America, the insect often may be found in pairs on either sides of cattail stems. So each side of the plant's tough stem is attacked by the grasshopper's dauntingly blunt-toothed mandibles.
