The Doctorate of Philosophy (Ph.D. ) is the highest doctorate. However, there are some doctorates granted in the United Kingdom called Higher Doctorates which are awarded for a successful academic career and considerable research. Nevertheless, the Ph.D. requires the most credits for its completion and also a demanding dissertation.
