Sounds like either the accelerator pump is not working --rebuild kit available or Problem with automatic choke not working properly

It is normal for a carburetor to "suck air" when you are starting the engine or while the engine is running. You should stop the engine before repairing the carburetor for safety reasons.
If the gas tank is above the carborator and there is no fuel pump it is.
There is a spring that might be missig down by the carborator. It might be gone.

That car is more probably fuel injected and not carburetted, so I doubt how much good it'll do you. Injector cleaner is probably a better choice if it's running rough.

the air suction is the mechanism that which circulates the fluctuating air and filters it through the carborator. In order for it to work properly you must blow into it and then spin it to get it started. Sometimes you need to stick your finger in to get it running properly.
It could be dirt in the carborator or the timing chain is starting to go, but that usually just dies and the car will not start again. It also could be a problem within the exhaust system. I have had the alternator changered with no results.
