John Paul Jones was a naval commander and privateer during the American Revolutionary War, often regarded as the "Father of the American Navy." He is best known for his daring raids against British ships and for his victory in the Battle of Bonhomme Richard against HMS Serapis. Jones's leadership and tactical skills helped establish the reputation of the fledgling American navy. After the war, he continued his naval career in the Russian Navy.
