Allen left ASU to join the faculty at Fatih University in Istanbul, Turkey. He's been trying to get overseas for a while now; plus, he is now physically closer to his significant other whom he met in Cairo. Also, he was at great odds with the ASU sociology faculty. Allen was known for stirring the pot, and this didn't fly well at ASU. Sadly, Allen was one of the smartest faculty members at ASU. He could be an ass at times, but it was for good reason. He will be missed at ASU.
