Special Education is a branch of teaching that is rapidly growing and focuses on working with students who have all kinds of disabilities. This program encourages teaching in an inclusive setting, where the disabled student is able to participate in all programs offered to regularly educated students. The Special Education teacher will need to work with parents, teachers, and administrators in order to determine the best course of education for each child on their caseload. The college courses for this occupation will include educational methods, child development and behavior, and a student teaching internship. All students with an education major will learn the latest teaching methods in order to ensure success in the classroom. These methods include lesson planning and other instructional elements. The Special Education Teaching student will also study different types of learning disabilities and how to write and implement the Individualized Education Plan (IEP) for their students. For example, if a student has dyscalculia, a math disability, their IEP could be written on practicing mathematical equations in smaller increments than regular students. The Special Education teaching candidate will also learn about the process of testing and qualifying students with disabilities for the Special Education program. Other classes offered for this program will teach candidates about the behavioral challenges that many special education students will have. These classes on child psychology and behavior will provide an overview of emotional and behavioral disorders that many children possess. I am a special education teacher--I have been teaching now for 12 years. I have worked with a very wide range of children with disabilities. I believe there are many factors that should go into deciding if a child should be in a regular classroom. Factors such as; what is the students disability and how severe that disability is, does the student have the social skills that it takes to be in the general classroom and the type of regular classroom teacher will be with that child. Many regular classroom teacher deal very well with special needs students. But I have seen some who don't deal well with special needs children well. These teachers need to know how to modify to the needs of that students. If these students get with the wrong teachers then that hurts everyone in the classroom. It is not fair for the student with the disability, the teacher and the other children that are in the classroom. Each students needs to be evaluated and all these factors need to be taken into account. We do many different things where I teach. Some students are in a special education room all day--some are pulled out for special services for 50min-2 hrs and 3 hrs. Sometimes the special education teacher even goes into the general education room and works with the special needs child. We all need to remember that every child is different and learns at a different way and at different paces.

He did not get paid to teach students, so he did not have a regular income of money, but in his situation, he didn't need money, for his students would get him whatever he would need ,like food.
