A is a little better than an A minus. Typically letter grades are based on percentages. A's are usually given for work in the 90% range with: 100% - 98% A+ 97% - 93% A 90% - 92% A- Note: Grading scales can vary substantially depending on the teacher, school, or even the country you live in. That said, A will always be better than an A- Answer

In the short term, the difference doesn't matter. About the only reason it would matter is if you are going for valedictorian and the scoring for that is based on numerical values, so a point here or there might make a difference. However, most of us aren't looking that close. Certainly if you have an A of any sort, you can be comforted that you know what you should have learned from the lesson.
