It cost me $100 to have my computer reprogrammed. That fixed it. Still, it only took a few minutes for someone who knew what he was doing and saved me a day of changing a fuel filter and going all over the car checking a whole bunch of stuff before I took it to a mechanic.
There are many reasons as to why a car may lose power while driving. However, the most likely cause is a bad fuel pump. This causes the car to 'think' that there is not any gas, so it begins to stall, and eventually stalls while driving.
Gravity! We fight that loss of power by using more torque.
Car needs service
might be a dirty fuel filter
Hmm... while driving, and/or intermittently? Or has something really gone south and the car just has no guts ever? Can you be a little more precise? FriPilot

Texting, drinking, smoking, eating, singing, applying make-up, juggling, etc.
Bad connection somewhere? Loss of power? (check and wiggle fuse)
Skidding while driving, especially during hard braking, is typically caused by a loss of traction between the tires and the road surface. This can happen when the tires lock up and slide instead of rolling smoothly, leading to a loss of control over the vehicle.
If it is more of a noise than a power loss, then you may simply have a loose exhaust bracket or heat shield. Either of these can make a lot of noise under load. If you are experiencing a loss of power, then the problem may be that the catalytic converter is beginning to fail. If so, replace the them soon.
Perhaps alternator is not charging the battery properly Test with a voltmeter - fully charged battery should read approx. 12.8 without engine running With engine running should read 13.8-14.2
There are several possible reasons why your car may be losing power while driving. Some common causes include issues with the fuel system, such as a clogged fuel filter or a failing fuel pump. Other potential reasons could be problems with the ignition system, such as faulty spark plugs or a malfunctioning ignition coil. Additionally, issues with the transmission, such as low transmission fluid or a failing transmission component, could also cause a loss of power while driving. It is recommended to have your car inspected by a qualified mechanic to diagnose and address the specific issue.
