If any of the front windows stops working and you are sure that it is not a hardware malfunction, then it is probably an electrical one.
The most common malfunction comes from the dual electrical switch buttons on the drivers side.To fix this you will need to dissemble the switch until you reach the
electronic plate. If you notice carefully the plate you will see that a certain pin on the plate is burned down. (obviusly this is a conductivity problem).
All you have to do is to fix this contact using a soldering gun-soldering wire.
Re-asemble an you are good to go.

Possibly the padding from the window runners is defective. This will cause the glass to move slightly, which could cause it to crack.
It could be that the window motor has stopped working.
If the driver's window on a 1997 Oldsmobile Achieva isn't working while the other three windows are functioning, it could be due to a faulty window motor or a broken window regulator specific to that door. Additionally, issues with the driver's side window switch or wiring harness could also cause the problem. It's advisable to check for power at the switch and inspect the components for any visible damage or wear.
The power window on the driver side of a 1999 Cadillac Eldorado may stop working due to several potential issues. Common causes include a faulty window switch, a broken window regulator, or a malfunctioning power window motor. Additionally, damaged wiring or a blown fuse specific to the driver side window circuit could also lead to this problem. Diagnosing the issue typically involves checking these components for faults.
Check to see if you are getting power to the motor if so window motor is defective Could be open wire usually in the door jamb area
If it is just the driver side window and button, more than not the master control switch needs to be replaced. It could also be the window moter or reg. Either way its around $100 if its just the switch that's bad.
The motor could be burnt out on the window. This is more than likely what has happened. The motor can be replace for a low cost.
Well if everything else is working, then the window itself maybe stuck. That maybe the only that could be wrong with it.
It could be your window regulator.
there is a control module which powers both. A temp way to get over the hump is to hold the driver window up/down button opposite of window position when starting.
sometimes it is working but after few seconds it is stopping
Yes, an electric driver's window generally needs to be operational for a vehicle to pass the MOT test in the UK. The test checks for the functionality of essential components, including windows, as they contribute to the vehicle's safety and driver visibility. If the window is not working, it could be deemed a failure, especially if it restricts the driver's ability to operate the vehicle safely.
