Lexus's have been consistently rated as some of the most reliable vehicles by Consumer Reports. They're owned by Toyota, so they share a lot of parts and design features with the Toyota line, also known for excellent reliability. Your mileage will obviously vary. My 2001 GS300 just had the engine overheat and die through a sort of freak electrical event which cut the temperature sensors and water pump, at 165,000 miles. 200,000 miles is probably the average on the same engine for a lexus built in the last decade or so.
