Running lights may stay on when the ignition is off due to a malfunction in the vehicle's electrical system, such as a stuck relay or a faulty switch. Some vehicles have a feature that keeps running lights on for safety reasons, allowing visibility when parked. Additionally, if the vehicle has a feature like daytime running lights (DRLs), it may be programmed to keep them illuminated under certain conditions. If the lights remain on unexpectedly, it’s advisable to have the vehicle inspected by a professional.
99 jeep Cherokee Laredo stay running after turn off the ignition switch?
I got it. It was the brake light switch. No answers need now, thanks.
It sounds like your dizzy cap isn't lined right which causes the engine to stay running after the ignition has been switched off. i had the same problem with my fiesta
Turn igniton to on position and put odometer in trip mode, turn off ignition. Hold trip button in and hold it in as you turn ignition to on position, it will flash Turn off ignition. Maintenance light should go and stay off
Have you tried changing the ignition switch?
because the lights are not controlled by the ignition switch; they are controlled by a separate light switch.
security light on 1998 s10 start but cut off
Did they used to go off with the ignition? On most cars, the headlights will come on at any time by just turning them on. The car does not need to be running or the key turned on.
day time running module on drivers fender back by the brake booster needs to be replaced
I'm not a mechanic but I believe that is a malfuctioning DRL module
Set your light switch to "auto" on the dash and your lights will come on automatically with the ignition. Turn your light switch on your dashboard to "auto" or "automatic" and the lights will come on and off with your ignition switch.
sounds like the ignition control module
