Electric substations either step up voltage or step down voltage for electric power distribution. For example, power being generated at a power plant would be stepped up in voltage for transmission over the electric grid. On the other hand, power coming into a residential neighborhood from the electric grid would be stepped down in voltage for distribution to individual homes. This increasing or decreasing of voltage will be accomplished by using Transformers in the substation. There will also be electric circuit breakers in the substation located on both the high and low voltage sides of the transformer. These circuit breakers are used to be able to isolate the transformer from the electric grid for maintenance purposes or in case of an electrical fault that could damage the transformer. Most substations will also contain a Control House that contains all of the control equipment for the substation as well as battery backups in case of loss of power. Type your answer here...

A CVT in substations uses it as a communication system. It is also use in filtering high frequency waves that acts as a carrier network.
Gas insulated substations do have some advantages. They are preferred in cities and large towns, and are considered to be safe, reliable, and maintenance free.

There are 230kv and 110kv GIS substations in chennai functioning from 1998 ,commssioned by Tamilnadu electricity board.
What do truck-mounted infrared cameras look for in substations and on power lines
gas insulated substations are installed especially where floor area available is limited and maintenance cost is more

the answer is Substations
coz it is dangerous
Transformers.
At substations, the voltage of electricity is either stepped up or stepped down depending on its application. They serve as an intermediate point between the power generation plants and the consumers' electrical distribution system. Substations also provide various protection and control mechanisms to ensure the reliable and efficient transmission and distribution of electricity.
