Current coil carries the current.
The stator is bad.. Or the pulser coil

Here are possible causes of no spark on the 1980 CM400, starting from the easiest to fix: kill switch turned to "off" position. Bad spark plugs. (It's important to be aware that on this bike, both spark plugs must not be fouled; If either one is fouled enough not to fire, there will be no spark, because the way the system is designed it takes both plugs to complete the ignition spark plug circuit.) Kill switch malfunction, causing the coil to be grounded. Ignition switch malfunction, causing the coil to be grounded. Bad Coil. You've presumably eliminated this, but consider the possibility the new or used coil you obtained could be bad) bad pulser coil or stator. (follow instructions in the shop manual to test these, the manual is available all over the net in .pdf)
The pulser in the tank on Fiero does not exsist. The item that buzzes inside the tank for a second every time the key is turned on is the fuel pump. The computer turns it on when the key is turned on and while the starter is turning the engine. The pump is run by a relay and the oil pressure switch going down the road.
I used Palsma Pulser, Hunter's Autogun and Laser Focus and Light Cannon from my Battle Hammer v.2
