The windings are wound as a pair, two wires next to each other. Same start point and same end point. In parallel, another words. They both share the same axis point also so the EMF is balanced as near to perfect as possible. The share the same EMF path when the electrons are changed into magnetism and then back to electrical current, hopping from the primary to secondary windings.

How do transformers reduce electrical voltage?

This type of transformer is called a Step-Down transformer. All transformers have an input to output ratio. The transformers that increase voltage are called Step-up, and the transformers that protect against surges are called unity gain. The Unity gain transformer has a 1:1 ratio and provide a mechanical way to isolate a source of voltage from a load.

How is power factor improved in fluorescent lamps?

the old ones with transformers you can correct with capacitors incandescent lamps have unity power factor the newer florescent ballasts are closer to unity but tend more towards capacitance

Transformers are rated in what?

Transformers are rated in KVA. (this is because the transformer is Unity power factor device i.e.. PF = 1)AnswerThe selection of a transformer is determined by the apparent power of the load, expressed in volt amperes(V.A), the load current, and the line voltage of the supply. The transformer must be able to satisfy these requirements.Transformers are not 'unity power factor' devices, which is precisely why their capacity is expressed in volt amperes, rather than in watts.

What is meant by unity power factor?

when voltage n current r in same phase(it happens when load is resistive) ,the power factor which denoted by "fi" is 1 .this condition is known as unity power factor

What is meant by saturated current?

Different devices have saturation currents. For example transformers and transistors. There is not sufficient information in the question to allow a proper answer.

How do you find unity in diversity?

Well actually unity in diversity is a slogan celebrating co-operation between different groups of people in a single society and socio-ecological philosophy that describes a sense of oneness despite physical or psychological barriers. It doesn't meant there is a unity in a diversity anyway hope it helps :)
