Yet another advantage of electric induction motors is their ability to be connected directly to the AC source. This may not mean much in household uses, but in industrial uses, this can be an important cost saver. Since the basic electric design has graduated into an electronic one over the years, an induction motor is easy to program for its various uses. The initial cost of installing it may be a little high, but it will save money in the long term because of the low maintenance cost and durability of the product. Moreover, it is a flexible design which allows innovations and newer technologies to be incorporated easily without incurring extra costs or necessitating

induction motors are widely used in industries just to consume the amount of power they supply. The induction motor does not need any externel triggering force to run the motor,it is self starting.where as, in other motors externel torque should be applied which consumes more amount of power.

High tension induction motors have high torque which enables to run much larger machines.

How single-phase induction motor classified?

The single phase induction motors are made self starting by providing an additional flux by some additional means. Now depending upon these additional means the single phase induction motors are classified as: 1.Split phase induction motor. 2.Capacitor start inductor motor. 3.Capacitor start capacitor run induction motor. 4. Shaded pole induction motor.

What are the different types of induction motors?

DOL(Direct Online starting) Star Delta starting Auto transformer starting Above methods are for squirrel cage induction motor Rotor resistance starting is used for wound rotor or slip ring induction motor

Why need of circle diagram in induction motor?

Circle diagram of an induction motor is plotted set of lines , arcs, and angles graphically depicting induction motor performance, derived from simple no-load and locked-rotor tests. A motor's "conventional" efficiency was determined based on four losses only: stator and rotor I2R, core loss, and friction and windage. Each of them could be evaluated with acceptable accuracy from tests without shaft load, through use of a circle diagram. Other than this all operational performances of an induction motor can be calculated by circe diagram without actually loading the machine. You can not count the advantages of the circle diagram only when you use it.

What is squirrel cage induction generator?

Squirrel cage type is a type of Induction motor. It tells that the rotor is "squirrel cage" type. Another type of induction motor is with "slip ring" type of rotor. Squirrel cage type is most widely used Induction motor.

Yes, that is one of the major advantages of a three-phase induction motor.

What are the advantages of open end winding induction motor over conventional induction motor?

Open ended induction motor - i assume you are talking about split phase induction motor. With these motors old style speed controlling method using external resistors can be used. However this is now obsolete.

What are the advantages of induction motor?

1. Induction motor has high starting torque, therefore use for operate pump which need high starting torque. 2. Induction motor operate on variable speed. 3. It can be used as generator when speed of motor is higher than synchronous speed.

What are the advantages of single phase induction motor?

the torque requirement of single phase induction motor is less, and it is use for low power applications upto 1 to 10 kw.like in fans, mixiers
