∙ 8y agoTransformers are not ideal voltage sources. They just transfer energy almost instantaneously between 2 windings. Polarity is a convention in transformer denoting phase shift. So, if you connect 2 transformers back-to-back with wrong polarity, the output may be phase shifted by 180 deg or 0 deg depending on transformer's polarity.
