In North America the switch can be placed either inside the room or outside the room. When it is inside the room it is placed on the opening side of the door so that when you enter the room, the switch can be flipped on. When the switch is located on the outside of the room a convenient placement is close to the door opening so that when you open the door the switch can be turned on in one continuous motion.

Why it is not allowed to switch the light if your hands is wet?

How do you install a GFCI so it is always on to a two way light switch that controls a vent and a light in a bathroom?

Your question sounds simple but it isn't. There are two ways of wiring a light to a switch. One is to bring the hot and neutral wire to the switch box and from there run wires from the switch to the light. If this is the case you can install a GFCI on the circuit. The other way is to bring the hot and neutral wire to the light and from there run two wires to the switch and switch the light that way. In this case you cannot install a GFCI to in the switch box. <<>> The way you want the circuit to work has to be laid out as follows. Method one, the circuit that now controls the bathroom devices can be changed to a GFCI breaker. This is probably the quickest and cheapest, unless the job is new construction. Method two, if new construction use this method, as tearing walls open to get to the wiring will become costly. Where a supply circuit comes from the service distribution panel the first device on that circuit has to be a GFCI receptacle. This device has secondary terminals on it, that if connected every device downstream from it will also be protected. So if you supply the two way light switch that controls the vent fan and a bathroom light from the secondary terminals from the GFCI receptacle they will be protected.

You have 2 lights in 2 different rooms that each work off each wall switch and they are not hooked up as a 3 way switch?

Can anyone tell me why? I rewired the upstairs and I know it is correct. It is an old house that had the knob and tube wiring. Alot of the rooms are on one circuit as I havent had time to split them up. The 2 upstairs bedrooms, 1 downstairs bedroom, Living room, dining room and bathroom (light only) are on the same circuit. However, only the 1 upstairs bedroom and the light in the bathroom are affected. If I turn either of the light switches on, it turns both lights on. If I turn the bathroom light on, the light in the bedroom comes on and does not shut off with the bedroom switch, no matter if the switch is in the on or off position. The same goes for the opposite, cant turn off the bathroom light when the bedroom light switch is on. The bathroom light still has the old knob and tube wiring as I havent gotten that far in the wiring process and so does the downstairs bedroom, however, I cant figure out why the only 2 lights affected are the 1 bedroom upstairs and the bath if all of the other lights act normal. There is only 1 main power feed to all the upstairs Would it be because there is no ground wire on the bathroom light fixture? Its just 12-2 to a junction box and the knob and tube wires are spliced to it in there.

What could you add to the circuit to control the bulb?

Switch

Why are most industrial loads placed in parallel with the source and in series with a switch?

The loads are in series with the switch so the switch can turn them on and off. The loads are in parallel with each other so they each get the same voltage when the switch is turned on. (Kirchoff's voltage law) You would not want the loads in series with each other because they would then have half the voltage and one quarter the power that you probably intended. (Assuming consistent impedance) If you had the switch in parallel, and opened(turned off) the switch, there would still be a current along the whole circuit (except that which is in series with the switch)

Why does bathroom light go off when you turn on bedroom light?

That's one I've never seen. Does the bathroom light turn ON when the bedroom light is switched Off? Does the bathroom light switch turn the bathroom light on and off normally when the bedroom light switch is left on? Need to answer these questions, then find where the bathroom light power comes from. It's power supply should either go directly from the power oanel to the bathroom light or to the bathroom light switch. The bathroom light switch merely acts as an interrupter for the hot leg of this power supply.

What is the purpose of a bathroom fan switch and how does it function in controlling the ventilation system?

The purpose of a bathroom fan switch is to control the ventilation system in a bathroom. When the switch is turned on, it activates the fan to remove moisture, odors, and pollutants from the air. This helps to improve air quality and prevent mold and mildew growth in the bathroom.
