Transformer is a electromagnetic stationary device which converts electrical energy from one level to another level by keepings its frequency constant.

Whereas in motors or generator electrical energy is converted to mechanical energy and vice versa.

Now when this conversion of energy is taking place noise and friction comes in existence due to which some loss of input energy takes place due to which energy output reduces and efficiency accordingly.

What is the problem with using an electric motor to run a generator stepped up with transformers that is used to run the motor and give electricity for other uses?

It's all to do with the conservation of energy. The output power of the transformer cannot be greater than the input power from the motor used to drive your generator! In fact, it will be significantly lower than the power of your first motor due to the efficiency of the motor, of the generator being driven by that motor, and of the transformer. So if you then try to run the original motor from the output of your transformer, the energy-losses will simply accumulate, and the motor will not be able to run!

Why efficiency of generator is greater than motor?

i think both will be same..

What is a static transformer?

It's a transformer that operates with AC current in and out. It's an ordinary transformer, with the term "static" used to differentiate it from rotating transformers, such as motor-generator sets.

Which device you use to increase voltage from 220V to 11000V?

If it is AC, a transformer. If it is DC, a motor generator.

Why Back EMF occur in only dc motor?

It doesn't. It exists in all electrical machines, d.c. or a.c., motor, generator, or transformer.

What are advantages of swinburne's test?

we can predetemine the efficiency of a dc machines working as a motor or generator

Why generator has more efficient than motor?

Depending on what you're referring to, you may have this completely backwards. A motor's efficiency is fairly high. A generator's efficiency at converting chemical/kinetic/mechanical energy to electric energy is at best around 50%.

How do you calculate amount of copper used in a motor AC or DC and generator and transformer Datasheets do provide power rating and mass of the equipment can we somehow use this available info?

One thing you could do is look up the datasheet for the motor and/or contact the manufacturer of the motor. Also, if you know the guage of wire, you can calculate it based on the resistance of the coils on the motor/generator or on the coils of the transformer

Will using a transformer to convert 230V to 12V DC consume more energy than using a few capacitors and resistors without a transformer?

no, the transformer is much more efficient <><><> HOWEVER- a transformer only changes the voltage of AC current- it does not change it to DC. You will still need diodes or rectifiers. You can also use a motor/generator- a 230v AC motor turns a 12 v DC generator.

What do you understand by efficiency of motor or generator?

The efficiency of any machine is the output power divided by the input power, usually expressed as a percentage.

Why generator has the better efficiency than motor?

becoz alternater has work on principle of electomagnetic induction .

Why the efficiency of induction motor is less than that of transformer?

Because, the losses of IM is more due to the contribution of friction losses at shaft bearings and wind age losses in rotor air gap, this reduces the efficiency of the equipment, Since transforms is a static equipment zero mechanical loss so efficiency of the equipments in high .
