What is the meaning of wiring type class a?

This is a wiring method used primarily in Fire Alarm systems. It means there are two paths for an alarm to be detected. A Class A circuit will have two wires from the alarm panel to the detector (heat, smoke, etc.) AND two more wires that go from the detector back to the panel. The detector now has two paths to report an alarm. The official definition states that any single wire break shall not prevent the alarm signal from reporting to the panel. Since both ends of the circuit end up back at the panel, it can directly monitor the wires for breaks. The alarm panel must be a model designed for Class A circuits. The other type of circuit found in fire alarm systems, Class B, omits the return wires and has just one path for the alarm. Class B circuits have a resistor placed at the end to provide supervisory current to monitor the wires for breaks. Class A and B can also be applied to alarm notification circuits, like bell, horn, speaker, and strobe circuits. Same principles apply, only in reverse. Now the signal goes from the panel to the notification appliance.

What is the advantages of variable resistor?

When we want to regulate somthing ;we use variable resistors for example :volume control in radios and volume in headset. Also , the variable resistors can forms a potential devider in which the overall resistance between the two end points remain the same, but the ratio of the two resistors in the legs changes.so the variable resistor is affectively a potential divider. Also, the variable resistor can forms a potential divider in which the overall resistance between the two end points remains the same, but the ratio of the two resistors in the legs changes. So, the variable resistor is effectively a potential divider.

Why you use ELR?

An ELR is terminology used in fire alarm systems. It stands for End of Line Resistor. It is used as a load on individual fire alarm circuits. This load draws a small current that is monitored by the alarm panel. What the panel is monitoring for is open circuits in break glass and bell circuits. If the current is non existent then it means that one of the fire circuits is opened, out of service and non operational. In the alarm panel a relay is de-energized and a trouble alarm is activated to bring attention to the problem. Once the problem is repaired the current again flows through the ELR and the trouble relay resets.

How does a sprinkler system work as an open loop system?

What you may be referring to, since the question was posted in electrical engineering section, is in reference to the electrical switches and devices installed on sprinkler systems. The systems have water flow devices, low air switches, valve tamper devices and the like. each device is designed to monitor changes in state in the system. (sprinkler waterflow, low air pressure in a system, an improperly open or closed valve, to name a few.) these devices are designed to send an electrical current or signal of high or low voltage to a device(bell or siren) or to an alarm or control panel. The terminals on these devices are similar. They have a "common" terminal. Next, they have an "normally open" terminal; which means the circuit is open normally, but closes during a change in state. The circuit is supervised with a end of line resistor in the circuit, hence an "open loop"

What is the end of line resistor used for in fire alarm circuits?

An End of Line resistor is used to create a small constant load in a protective zone or loop. The control panel monitors the current in the loop to detect if the wires have been cut open, or shorted, both of which would be either a "trouble" or "alarm" indication.

What is difference between for loop statement and do while statement in c language?

The for loop has an initializer, an end condition, a loop expression, and a body. The initializer always runs. If the end condition is not satisified, the loop ends or never starts. The loop expression runs at the end of each iteration. Note that the body of a for loop can run no times. The do while statement has a body and an end condition. The body is executed, and then the end condition determines if the loop will iterate. Like the for loop, the loop expression runs at the end of each iteration. Note that the body of a do while loop will run at least one time.

What looping process checks the test condition at the end of the loop?

The do..while() loop tests the condition at the end of the loop. Therefore the loop body executes at least once. The while() loop (without do) tests the condition before entering the loop and before each iteration of the loop. The for() loop conditional expression is optional but, when specified, is tested before entering the loop and before each iteration of the loop.

What is the significance of test condition in a loop?

The test condition in a loop is what's used to determine when the loop should end.

How do you jumper a resistor?

The most clean-looking way is to unsolder the resistor from the circuit board and put in its place a piece of solid wire, bent into a U shape to fit the same holes, soldering it back in place where the resistor was A slightly uglier but much faster way is to take the same U-shaped piece of wire and bend little hooks on each end. Hook the ends around the existing resistor leads and solder. The above assumes leaded through-hole resistors. If the resistor is surface-mount, you basically have to tack-solder a tiny loop of wire to each end of the resistor. Its best not to remove the resistor unless you're trained in surface-mount component repair, or you will likely damage the board. You will need an iron with a very small tip for this.

What is unique about a DOWHILE loop?

A DO-WHILE loop will always execute at least one iteration of the loop body. This is because the condition that controls the loop comes at the end of the loop, rather than at the beginning as per a WHILE or FOR loop.

How much would one expect to pay for a top end radiation detector?

There are so many contributing factors to the price of a radiation detector. For a extremely sensitive, high end radiation detector, someone could expect to pay approx $3500 USD.

How can I loop a strap effectively?

To loop a strap effectively, follow these steps: Hold the strap in one hand and create a loop by crossing one end over the other. Bring the end that is underneath up and through the loop. Pull both ends to tighten the loop securely. Adjust the size of the loop as needed for your specific use.
