The 555 is a timer and oscillator chip capable of sourcing and sinking 200 milliamperes, and is useful for pulsing an infrared LED to power an infrared transmitter. It can be pulse width modulated or otherwise controlled via the various control pins.

in most cases the IR detector used is TSOP sensors which works only on a specified frequency of 38KHz. So by using 555 timer, we can design the circuit very easly to work @ 38KHz. dats why in 555 is used in many IR txns.
In IR (InfraRed) detector is a circuit that receives an infrared input, either in an alarm or as a heat sensing device. In an alarm circuit, using an infrared beam rather than a laser has both advantages and disadvantages. Passive heat sensors rely on a general increase in temperature to identify a likely source, e.g. an animal, person, or vehicle engine.
By Megger testing (meggering) of the motor any one can measure the IR of the motor. MEGGER is a device used to measure IR. Analog Megger device may generate 500 volts..it gives coil to coil or coil to body IR value...it should not be less than 2 Mega ohm, generally it should be or kept more than 5 mega ohm...thanks ...DEEPAK RAJPUT

Volts. Using the equation V=IR Change in voltage (measured in volts) = Current (in Amps) * Resistance (in ohms) So a volt equals amps times ohms.
Having a built-in ir transmitter receiver is a fabulous idea

Yes, the IR transmitter doesn't care how many IR headphones are in the room.
Infra Red light ! I'm guessing you also asked the question 'What does IR use to receive data' too. Basically there is an IR diode in the transmitter, and a detector in the receiver. The amount of IR emitted by the diode varies with voltage, so when the detector receives the pulse, it can 'de-code' what's being sent.
No, TV remotes use IR light and/or RF transmitter.
This system which is installed at the gate uses an IR transmitter sensor unit to identify the arrival of a person and makes a beep sound using a buzzer. This system also
If you want to experiment with these, your local Radio Shack should have IR transmitters and receivers in stock.
A transmitter substance, also known as a neurotransmitter, is a chemical messenger that transmits signals between neurons in the brain and nervous system. These substances play a key role in allowing nerve cells to communicate with each other and regulate various bodily functions, such as mood, memory, and muscle movement. Examples of neurotransmitters include serotonin, dopamine, and acetylcholine.
KBr is transparent to IR radiation, most alkali halides are transparent in ir
Some devices have the receiver and transmitter built into the same device. Some devices use only a detector and register changes in emitted IR "patterns" (for example) to infer motion.
Essentially IR port on PDAs or a computer is a serial port with physical connection in form of Infrared light instead of electrical wires. These ports have infrared LED transmitter and Infrared photo diode receivers. You have to have IR built-in to your computer or you have to buy an adapter for it
IR LED will be having connecting leads same as ordinary LED. When ever we use IR LED, which works like a transmitter we have to connect a photo diode as a receiver (very near to IR LED). So as we know IR LED keeps on emitting IR radiations photo diode will keeps on receiving, it in a reflecting surface. In case if the surface not reflect IR radiation(Black surface obsorbs IR). the input to the photo diode becomes nil, and photo diode wont work and hence the circuit. inform.mayaprasad@gmail.com
