No. Koalas are endemic to eastern Australia. There may be some zoos in the US with a licence to keep koalas, but there are certainly no wild koalas in the US. They would not survive the many predatorial species there.

During the twentieth century, koalas became extinct in South Australia due to human interference. That situation has now been reversed, but South Australia still has one of the smaller populations of koalas, after New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland. The only reason koala colonies are present in South Australia now is that certain areas have been selected for repopulation. One of the most thriving populations is now on Kangaroo Island, where there is an absence of predators.

South Australia is a state of Australia, and different to "southern Australia".

The koala can be found in the coastal regions of eastern and southern Australia, from near Adelaide (the capital of South Australia) to the southern part of the Cape York Peninsula (in northern Queensland). Populations also extend for considerable distances inland in regions with enough water to support suitable woodlands.
