Not in all states. Before you enter a state it will tell you if they are not allowed. When you are driving on I-95 and get to Virginia it will remind you that it is illegal so you have to turn it off until you leave the state.

Did the NZ cops change their radar frequencies recently so that radar detectors cant pick them up anymore?

Not really. For years they have been using K band and Ka band. Yet fairly recently they have mostly phased out the use of K band. New Zealand is allowed to use the same three Ka band frequencies which are used in the USA. These Ka frequencies are 33.8, 34.7 and 35.5. The 34.7 Ka frequency is the easiest to detect with any quality radar detector. The 35.5 frequency is poorly detected by some radar detector brands, notably Cobra. The 33.8 Ka frequency may be only fairly well detected by dome radar detector brands.

What are the advantages of radar range over radar bearing?

Radar range is the distance of the object from the radar. Radar bearing is the direction of the object in relation to the radar. As radar is primarily used for ranging, the range information may be more important than the bearing.

How many different types of leak detectors HVAC?

There are several types of leak detectors used in HVAC systems, including electronic leak detectors, ultrasonic leak detectors, and dye-based leak detectors. Electronic detectors sense refrigerant gases through sensors, while ultrasonic detectors pick up sound waves generated by leaks. Dye-based detectors involve adding a fluorescent dye to the refrigerant, which can be visually inspected under UV light. Each type has its advantages, depending on the specific needs of the HVAC system and the type of refrigerant used.
