Negative reinforcement. It's buzzing to tell you something is wrong. If you got a reward for having your seatbelt on, it would be positive reinforcement.
As with any other rotational system in a belt drive during rotation, the belt is subjected to centrifugal force. Due to the centrifugal force the belt is thrown outward from the grooves of the pulley and causes additional tensioning of the belt. The effect of centrifugal tension is that it reduces the pretension of the belt and hence increases belt slip.
The belt of a Sears Kenmore Sewing Machine may break. You can replace the old belt with a new one.
The speed of the belt needs to be known (Feet Per Minute). You would take the weight of your sample in pounds * FPM of the Belt * 60min / 2000lbs = TPH. For example if your belt is moving 350 fpm and your belt cut weighed 10.5 lbs; 10.5lbs * 350 fpm * 60 / 2000 = 110.25 TPH
It would depend on what you want to use the belt and pulley for
Since the white belt is an introductory session to six sigma, it is not worth very much, but is a start on the trail to be a green or higher belt.
1st- seat down 2nd- buckle seat belt.
Positive, No chain or belt to break. Negative, Noisy.
In order to explain this, we should consider its working. The Van De Graaff Generator has two metal comb one which is held near the end of belt known as emitter comb and another comb which is placed near the upper end of the belt known as collector comb. The emitter comb ,as it is given high positive potential with respect to earth ,the discharge of its action of its pointed ends set up as electric wind of positive charges. These positive charges are sprayed on the belt which carries them to the top .This make the shell of a Van De Graaff Generator positively charge. But keep this is mind : The charge on the shell depends on the charge on the belt.
Disconnect the battery negative terminal. Remove serpentine belt. Remove bolts to alternator and positive cable at alternator and harness. Remove alternator. Reverse procedure to install.
Disconnect negative battery cable first. Locate alternator. locate belt tensioner. Use rachet to retract belt tensioner so belt can be removed off alternator. Remove alternator mounting bolts. disconnect positive cable and field wires from alternator. Remove alternator. Reverse to install. Removal of negative battery cable first prevents a short should the wrench touch metal or car ground. Some mechanics just remove the positive cable but risk a dead short shoud the wrench touch vehicle ground.
Take it to a mechanic.... use a 12 mm extended ratchet to loosen the accessory belt tensioner (remove belt) Unbolt the alternator from the engine chassis and unplug the positive and negative terminals. New Alternator Costs about $200, New Starter Costs the Same.
disconnect the positive and negative cables to be safe find the tensioner and push down to loosen the belt unplug the wires from back unbolt the battery cable from behing it remove the two remaining bolts holding it in and remove to put it back on just go in reverse of taking it off
if belt is not running other system than no
Yes. Anytime you work with the alternator you should disconnect the negative battery cable. You don't want to accidently touch a positive connection on the aternator while loosening the alternator holding nuts/bolts.
The Lexus LS460 has no belt it uses a chain as far as I can determine as Gates lists no belt for this model. Call your local Lexus dealer and verify this as I am not 100% positive.
sounds like the alternater squeling not the belt
The belt is tensioned by a spring loaded tensioner. The tensioner can be pulled to the side to release belt tension then the old belt can be removed and the new one installed. This may be easier with a helper. Always disconnect the negative battery cable for safety.
