Yes, freon can indeed cause corrosion. Freon leaks in vehicles can corrode surrounding parts and components in the car over time.

in my opinion, the value of corrosion rate obtained from certain reading is generally determine general corrosion rate, regardless what type of corrosion occur on a specific surface. in localized corrosion, where only some spots on surface is exposed to corrosion and other may be covered by film and etc. From my time of study, still didn't fine any research that can determine corrosion rate of localized corrosion unless u have a really micro- instrumentation that can monitor corrosion on the localized spots.. Alloys can add corrosion resistance to a metal
yes, it can not only lead to corrosion but a faster corrosion.
one main reason of treating cooling tower water is the presence of substances that can cause corrosion. what we do is eliminate the corrosive agents. well corrsoion is one of the reasons,it may cause chocking, blocking in the pipes which then will restrict the flow and cause severe damage
Yes, freon contaminated with water can corrode copper. The presence of water can lead to the formation of acids that can accelerate the corrosion of copper components in an HVAC system. It is important to ensure that freon is free of water to prevent this type of corrosion.
Type of air pollution coul cause corrosion is dirt
Excessive freon may cause the compressor to"slug" (Seize)
Corrosion can cause the main hardware parts to malfunction or simply stop operating. Corrosion on the power supply unit can cause short circuits and fires.
low on freon
Yes
R 134 is freon gas. In small amounts, the exposure to freon gas is not dangerous. In larger amounts, freon can cause respiratory issues.
reaction of metal surface with oxygen (atmospheric generally )cause corrosion
Yes, salt can cause corrosion in stainless steel. Salt can react with the chromium in stainless steel, leading to the formation of rust and corrosion. It is important to properly clean and maintain stainless steel surfaces to prevent corrosion when exposed to salt.
A leak is the only way to loose volume of the freon charge. Freon is in a sealed system and it does not get used up. If your system is tight the freon will last forever. However a restriction in the freon lines can cause the freon pressure on the low side to look like it is low but the freon is really stacking up in the condensor.
A Freon leak can cause you headaches and nausea but not cause severe health issues. You should have the leak repaired by a qualified professional as soon as possible.
