In traditional programming, code was run from start to finish and sometimes asked for input along the way. Event driven programming, on the other hand, does nothing until it gets an event, such as a mouse moving or a key being pressed.

if that was a question it would start with a question word OR be strachered as a question , and not as a command. i think people will not answer for commands, go look for the answer, "what is bdsm?"

Event driven programming relies upon outside input, such as a mouse or a keyboard, to continue. It will wait for a signal from one of these to decide what to do next. Procedural programming runs through a set of procedures or instructions that are static - it only varies depending on content being worked on. Examples:

Event Driven: Video Game

Procedural: Video converter (once it starts, it relies only upon internal components)

It's a program that waits until something happens and then performs a set of operations.

Common events include you clicking on a mouse, moving a mouse over/out of some object on the screen, moving a mouse in general, typing something, until something downloaded, etc.

Control driven means you have the full control of when, where, which, what, and how, both from the source and the target. You would know when a certain step should be taken at a certain point.

Event Driven does not know when, where, which, what, and how the source trigger the event (and the recipient should not care). The event receiver (the handler) somehow (and don't care) gets invoked and deal with the request. The internet is a perfect example of event-driven platform: you don't know when a user will visit your web site, who that is, from where, from what kind of computer or PDA or cell phone (and you have no control over those). Yes, you may be able to obtain those information, but only after the event being triggered. Control driven, on the other hand, you dictate what will happen, how to happen, and when to happen
