Soldered joints will have a higher resistance if the joint is not a clean solder joint. Badly soldered joints are classed as a cold solder joint.

Why welding is more popular than riveted joints?

It's often faster and can be stronger too.

When using a digital multimeter to measure ohms the meter display is OL. what does this indicate?

When a digital multimeter displays "OL" while measuring resistance in ohms, it indicates an overload condition, meaning the resistance is too high to be measured by the meter. This typically occurs when the resistance is infinite, such as in an open circuit. In essence, it signifies that there is no continuity or that the component being tested is non-conductive.

Why does the electrical resistivity of a conductor does not depend on its dimensions?

resistivity and resistance are two diff. things...........resistance depends on length and thickness resisitivity too depends on the area and length resistivity=resistance*area/length

What is the unit of measurement of internal resistance?

unit of internal resistasnce is ohms too. V = I(R+r) V voltage across the circuit I current in the circuit R external resistance r internal resistance unit of internal resistasnce is ohms too. V = I(R+r) V voltage across the circuit I current in the circuit R external resistance r internal resistance

Why the resistance of a capacitor is infinite when measures with an ohmmeter?

The typical ohmmeter measures DC resistance by providing DC current and measuring the voltage drop accross the resistor. By definition, the 'ideal' capacitor is an open circuit to DC current and voltage. By definition, an open circuit has infinite resistance. Of course, real-world capacitors are not ideal. They have a very high parallel leakage resistance and a very small series resistance. And, different meters can measure different ranges of resistance. So, you may not get an infinite/overload measurement on some capacitors with some meters. You may get a very high resistance instead. If so, you are not really measuring the resistance of the 'capacitor', but rather that of the imperfections in the component manufactured to be a capacitor. ANSWER: The ohmmeter battery will charge the capacitor in 5 time RC after that it quirts there is no more current flow. Any body that claim to be able to check resistance of a capacitor i just a wannabe

When is too high a resistance not a good thing in a circuit?

Too high a resistance is always not a good thing in a circuit. That's what "too high" means.

Why we are not using iron as a electric conductor?

Sometimes we are (high tension lines) - but it weighs too much and has too high a resistance for "normal" use.

Why watt density too high mega ohm is low?

ohm's measure resistance, the more ohm's the more resistance the less voltage

Means the resistance of a liquid to flowing?

There is either a restriction somewhere or the fluid viscosity is too high.

Why would you not get a spark from the ignition wires on a 1995 Mazda mx3?

Because your distributer is bad or has too high of a resistance value

What causes dry joints to occur?

Dry joints can occur due to insufficient soldering during the assembly process, leading to poor electrical connections. Other causes can include excessive heat during soldering, contamination on the soldering surface, or using the wrong type of solder alloy. Dry joints can lead to unreliable connections, increased resistance, and eventual failure of the electronic component.

Why tatanium used in making space crafts?

Titanium has many properties making it ideal for use in high-performance aerospace applications. It has a high tensile strength to density ratio (which means its tough to pull apart for its light weight), high corrosion resistance (won't rust or otherwise chemically degrade), fatigue resistance, crack resistance (vibrations won't cause too much damage compared to other materials), and its ability to keep these properties even under high temperatures.

Can you wire a dvc 2 ohm sub woofer to a dvc 4 ohm sub woofer?

You can, but you may damage your amp. If you wire them in parallel (both wires from each connected to the amp) then you will have an effective resistance less than 2 ohms. If you wire them in series then you will have an effective resistance of 6 ohms. Resistance that is too low draws more power than the output is rated for. Resistance that is too high reduces the volume and may distort the sound.
