you just tape over it. you do this by putting that VHS tape in and when a show or a commercial you want to watch comes on you just click on REC and it should erase the previous video on that that tape. Video tapes and most all types of magnetic media can be erased by exposing them to an AC field which is usually generated by hat's called, a `bulk eraser'. What it is, is a transformer with a switch, enclosed in some type of housing for convenience of use. If you look in the internet or Ebay, chances are that you can still find one, although they're not in a lot of demand today. The should be relatively inexpensive.
The AC power adapter is used to power electronics of many kinds. Some popular electronics include tape recorders, VHS players, laptops, and video game consoles.

Both Betamax and VHS were first developed by Sony Electric Corporation. Sony sold what it felt was the inferior VHS technology to the their competitors, believing that the superior Betamax would win out in the marketplace.
Strapping tape is a popular type of tape that athletes use. It is used for athletes to tape their wrists in order to prevent injury. The tape limits the movement of the joint and protects it from injury.

The erase protection tab on a VHS tape is located on the top edge of the cassette. It is a small, plastic tab that can be removed or covered to prevent the tape from being recorded over. If the tab is removed, it typically allows the tape to be recorded on; if it's still in place, the tape is protected from accidental erasure. Some tapes have a slot for a small piece of tape or a sticker that can be used to cover the hole if the tab has been removed.
A con of a VHS tape is that it is big and takes up a lot of room to store. A pro of a VHS tape is that the tape is protected by a cover.
Maybe the tape was recorded in a Super-VHS recorder. Very few VCRs made could play these tapes. Perhaps the tape was recorded on a VCR whose head was far out of alignment, or maybe the tape was subjected to a strong magnetic field, which would erase it.

If the tape will fit into a camcorder, there is no reason why a copyright tape won't play. Many VHS camcorders use small cassette bodies and a standard commercial VHS tape simply won't fit.
The easiest way to do this is to record over it, but there will still be residual audio (or video if a VT) from the previous recording. If you wish to erase a confidential recording, I would recommend a Tape Degausser. This emits a rapidly alternating electromagnetic field which demagnetised the tape and thus erases it, in much the same way the degauss feature works to demagnetise components in CRT monitors. However, Tape Degaussers can be very expensive. If it's important it be erased, with no trace and minimal cost - throw it on the fire, but you'll be unable to re use it afterwards.

To copy a copyrighted VHS tape to DVD using a DVD VHS combo recorder, first connect the VHS tape to the combo unit and insert the VHS tape into the VHS slot. Then, insert a blank DVD into the DVD drive. Start playback of the VHS tape and press the "Record" button on the DVD recorder to begin the transfer; make sure to monitor the process to ensure everything is being recorded correctly. However, be aware that copying copyrighted material without permission may violate copyright laws.
