There is a program run by the government called a Weatherization Program. They may give you a free heating and air conditioning system, put in more attic insulation. cork all the doors and windows, and or give you a new refrigerator if yours is old. This information can be gotten at the Community Action number in Longview Texas. This number is 903-758-5674. You don't have to pay anything, you just need to have a low income. You do not even need to own the house you're living in if the owner will ok them to come and do the work. Here in Texas they have crews that go from one county to another and they work from one to another when they finish one county. You could have to wait a while for them to come but I didn't wait but a short time and they did my house. They even put in a heat pump system and took out the old fashioned ceiling vents from the attic that used to let air circulate down. However these old vents let a lot of attic heat in with them. Now my electric bills are about 1/3 of what they were and I know there was still more attic space that needs more work on it but they have only so much to spend on each place. If you're house is already close to falling down it won't qualify.

How is a three way valve used?

Used on heating/cooling systems. Allows uninterrupted circulation through heating/cooling unit or heating/cooling system using 3-way valve.

Is a btu the same for cooling or heating?

Yes, a BTU (British Thermal Unit) is the same for both heating and cooling. It is a unit of energy used to quantify the amount of heat required to raise the temperature of one pound of water by one degree Fahrenheit, regardless of whether the energy is being used for heating or cooling purposes. However, the context of its application differs, as BTUs are typically associated with heating systems in winter and cooling systems in summer.

What is a ton of cooling?

Is reverse cycle ac heating cheaper than cooling?

Reverse cycle air conditioning can be more cost-effective for heating than for cooling, primarily due to the higher efficiency of heat pumps. They transfer heat rather than generate it, allowing them to provide more heat energy than the electrical energy consumed. However, the overall cost-effectiveness depends on local energy prices, the efficiency of the unit, and climate conditions. In milder climates, reverse cycle AC heating can be particularly economical compared to traditional heating methods.

Btu of heat equal 3 ton cooling unit?

A 3-ton cooling unit can remove heat at a rate of 36,000 BTUs per hour, as one ton of cooling is equivalent to 12,000 BTUs. Therefore, a 3-ton unit, which is typically used in air conditioning systems, is capable of cooling a space by removing 36,000 BTUs of heat every hour. This measurement helps in determining the appropriate size of air conditioning units for specific spaces based on their cooling requirements.

Where is the rear blower motor resistor on a 2004 gmc envoy XL?

It is on the heating unit on the back facing away from the inside of the car. Not an easy place. Service manual tells you to remove the whole unit to get at it. Which means removing the heating and cooling pipes that enter the back of the car under the heating unit and pulling the heating unit out.

What is the optimal thermostat setting for a fan coil unit to ensure efficient and effective cooling or heating?

The optimal thermostat setting for a fan coil unit to ensure efficient and effective cooling or heating is typically around 78 degrees Fahrenheit for cooling and 68 degrees Fahrenheit for heating. These settings help maintain a comfortable temperature while also maximizing energy efficiency.

What are the benefits of a wall unit AC and heater for home heating and cooling needs?

A wall unit AC and heater provides efficient heating and cooling for a specific area of your home. It is cost-effective, easy to install, and can help save energy by only heating or cooling the rooms that are in use. Additionally, it offers customizable temperature control and can be a good option for homes without existing ductwork.
