Depending if you are talking about stainless steel or galvanised steel. Either way, you need to use copper compression fittings, otherwise known as conex fittings in some countries.

Also, you need to be aware of galvanic corrosion if you are connecting copper pipes to galvanized steel pipes. The joint will rot away from the electrolytic action in a few years unless you use a dielectric union or other insulating separation.

Can you join 1 inch copper pipe to 28mm copper pipe?

I have recently had to join a 1 inch steel water pipe to a new copper 28mm pipe. You can do this using a 28mm comression joint. 1inch is just uneder 28mm in diameter but the compression joint takes up the difference and works without fault or leaks.

Will carbon steel pipe touching copper pipe cause electrolysis in plumbing situations?

will carbon steel pipe touching copper pipe cause electrolysis in plumbing situations using water.

How do you know if you have copper or steel drinking water pipes?

Galvanized pipe will be silver/gray color. Copper will be copper. Use a magnet, it'll stick to galvanized pipe but not to copper. Drinking water lines should not be black steel pipe.

What copper tube is available when using the grooved method of joining?

Grooved method? Threads on the end of the pipe? There is no tube or pipe in copper with threads. You can end a copper pipe with a connection that is threaded to accept steel pipe.

Is the pipe soldered?

Copper pipe is soldered. Steel pipe is welded. Plastic pipe (pvc) is glued. There is even a type of pipe that is smoked...

Can you connect chromed steel pipe directly to copper or do you need a brass fitting between?

In order to connect a chromed steel pipe to a copper pipe, you will need a brass fitting. These two pipes will not fit into each other otherwise.

Why does a steel pipe in larger copper tank corrode causing rapid destruction?

A steel pipe in a larger copper tank can corrode rapidly due to galvanic corrosion, which occurs when two dissimilar metals are in electrical contact in the presence of an electrolyte, such as water. In this case, the copper serves as the cathode and the steel as the anode, leading to accelerated corrosion of the steel. The electrochemical reaction causes electrons to flow from the steel to the copper, resulting in the degradation of the steel pipe. Additionally, the presence of moisture and other corrosive agents can further exacerbate this process.

What fitting is required to join copper with galvanized pipe?

A threaded copper fitting on the copper side, male or female, and the galvanized is screwed into it.

Best way to clean your pipe?

What kind of pipe, the inside or outside, or a tobacco pipe? If it is copper pipe, you can use an emery sand cloth or steel wool.

What will stop the electrolysis process on any plumbing?

Do not have dissimilar metals touching the plumbing pipe. If it is copper pipe, do not have steel or tin or anything else other than bras or copper or plastic touching the pipe

Why taps are made of stainless steel?

Because if you join copper (the pipe) directly into steel (the radiator) the electrolytic difference is so great they would corrode very quickly. By using brass between them you reove this risk.

Why do pipes rust?

Plastic pipe does not rust, brass does not rust, copper does not rust. Stainless steel does not rust, lead pipe does not rust.
