Yes, most if not all 90+ efficient furnaces are designed to take primary or combustion air from outdoors. That is partly where they get their high efficiency rating from. They are not using air that has already been heated for combustion.

Can a flood in the basement furnace affect the outside ac unit?

Well it can but if it does it will be somthing not to worry about.may be the contactor of the unit may get damaged, but that would still be really hard to happen thers a lot more going on on the furnace than just the a/c.i would worry bout the furnace

How do solve problem of furnace condensation line from freezing up outside our building andthis causes our furnace to stop?

It is generally (pretty much always) a no no to run a furnace condensate line to the outdoors, there is no avoiding this freezing up and stopping your furnace short of wrapping it with electric heat tape, which would be a bandaid at best and no more cheaper than correcting it. If the furnace is running condensate outside, I have to assume there is no drain near by. The best solution is to install a condensate pump, which the furnace and AC can drain into, and it then pumps to a different location indoors, like a laundry stack, or if you must, tap into a drain pipe with the proper fittings. If this is above your skill level, it would not be a bank buster to call a good contractor and have done. The pumps are about $60 in my area, and you can figure 1/2 hr to 3/4 hour to install by a contractor.

What is a choke in electric panel?

It could be to filter out outside interference from getting out or in. Radio equipment needs good filtering in the supply.

What is transformers necessity?

Outside the homes, electricity is transferred at several thousand volts, for reasons of efficiency (less energy is wasted that way). This voltage is far too high for home use. (Also, home devices are set up for a specific voltage.)Outside the homes, electricity is transferred at several thousand volts, for reasons of efficiency (less energy is wasted that way). Where should the furnace vent outside be located in a residential home for optimal safety and efficiency?

The furnace vent outside in a residential home should be located away from windows, doors, and other openings to prevent exhaust gases from entering the home. It should also be positioned at a safe distance from any combustible materials to reduce the risk of fire. Additionally, the vent should be clear of obstructions to ensure proper ventilation and efficiency of the furnace.

Why does Furnace shut off when very cold outside?

A heat pump will do this, a furnace should not. Are you sure you have a furnace?

What is the purpose of a furnace exhaust fan and how does it contribute to the overall functioning of a heating system?

The purpose of a furnace exhaust fan is to remove combustion gases and byproducts from the furnace and safely vent them outside. This helps maintain proper air flow and combustion efficiency in the heating system, ensuring safe and effective operation.

Why negative pressure maintained in furnace?

Negative pressure is maintained in a furnace to ensure that combustion gases and fumes are properly contained within the system and vented outside. This prevents the escape of harmful gases back into the living area and also helps improve the efficiency of the furnace by promoting the smooth flow of air and fuel.

What is the difference between a closed combustion furnace and open combustion furnace?

A closed combustion furnace has a sealed combustion chamber, drawing outside air for combustion and expelling combustion gases outside through a dedicated vent, resulting in higher energy efficiency and indoor air quality. An open combustion furnace draws air from inside the home for combustion and expels gases through a chimney, potentially leading to energy loss and indoor air quality issues.

How can I properly vent a high efficiency furnace through a wall?

To properly vent a high efficiency furnace through a wall, you should consult the manufacturer's guidelines for specific instructions. Typically, this involves installing a vent pipe that extends through the wall to the outside, ensuring proper clearance and sealing any gaps to prevent leaks. It is important to follow local building codes and regulations to ensure safe and efficient venting of the furnace.

How much would one expect to pay for an outside wood furnace?

One would expect to pay thousands of dollars for an outside wood furnace. It depends on what type of material was used to create the furnace and who was selling it.

What does a furnace vent look like and where is it typically located in a house?

A furnace vent is a metal pipe that extends from the furnace to the outside of the house. It is usually located on the side or roof of the house and is used to expel exhaust gases from the furnace.
