It's the same thing. If you have a degree in Mechanical Engineering, you have a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.

For the controls, you may want some computer experience as well. Some of the mechanical engineering colleges include essential computer programming.
You need to take up to 4 years of calculus, as well as many science classes in physics and chemistry. Classes in algebra and trigonometry may be prerequisites for calculus.
Either, do BTEC NATIONAL DIPLOMA IN MECHANICAL ENGINEERING (2 YEAR COURSE level 2/3) or AN AERONAUTICAL ENGINEERING COURSE IN CERTAIN COLLEGES, LIKE SUSSEX, or you could do an APPRENTICESHIP IN AERONAUTICAL/AEROSPACE ENGINEERING and earn while you train. :).
